Following on from Epiphany - THE GOLDING (Book 1 in the Epiphany series)

The story-within-a-story melds into a fascinating exploration of past and present lives intertwined, and a sequence of stunning revelations unfolds.

The 2008 Global Financial Crisis is looming, a time of losses for some in Rosetta’s circle, and the odd astonishing gain. Via the path of mystery, reversals in fortunes and romantic love, Rosetta and her book club unwittingly get involved in a quest for The Silvering an epoch rumoured to begin in 2022. The world's concept of worth, however, is keeping alive a body-king-created cycle of suffering, and the chance for a brighter future is fading fast.

Beneath the red soil of a southern land lies a glimmer of hope—a legacy of Norwegian forest-dwellers—destined to bring about a worldwide epiphany…but only if two people are heartfelt enough to fulfil Lillibridge’s mystifying prophecy.

Discoveries Matthew makes about Edward Lillibridge in the British village of Tintagel (letters the author wrote to his sister and son) align him with Rosetta and her desire to glean clues, but between them stands a wall of mistrust that threatens the sprites' noble plans. Each letter adds further detail to the tapestry of Lillibridge’s 18th-century existence, and Matthew is confronted with an uncanny truth that challenges his perceptions of life and death.

I recently read and reviewed Terry’s debut and first novel in this series, so my eagerness to read the follow up was a mix of equal parts excitement and trepidation, trepidation because after being so overwhelmed by the first book I was worried she wouldn't be able to carry on in such a successful way. Well, now I’ve read it I know I needn't have worried as The Silvering is every bit the knockout! The story continues on in the same intricate but well plotted manner without tailing off like some two-novel series do. It also doesn’t have the dragged out feel of others which just seem like a ploy to get the reader to buy two books when one would have been sufficient. If you’re reading this then I guess you’ve already read the first novel, so waste no more time and find out for yourself!

Epiphany THE SILVERING A return to the Currency of Kindness eBook Sonya Deanna Terry

I had greatly enjoyed the first sequel of the novel and so eagerly grabbed this new one. I am amazed by Sonya Deanna Terry's gift as a writer for she does not repeat her writing style but has presented fresh format in her story. The first part of the novel almost oscillates between the dream sphere and the letters in which the characters reveal a number of things- both of their personality and of their life. This also makes the story move at a fast pace and a lot is covered in just a few pages.
Sonya has created a marked difference in the font type too when describing the two worlds. The words describing the dream like sphere are also dreamlike in quality. There are a bit shallow looking and lack the depth same as we feel when we are in a dream like state. On the other hand the words in the real sphere are bold and striking just as we see the world in our waking state.
The third striking thing about the book is its positivity. Through the magic of her words Sonya has managed to spread positive feelings throughout the novel. This makes the reader feel revived and refreshed and fills the heart up with hope.
Lastly, the writer has connected history and religion to her main story in a very convincing manner.
As I had read the previous novel so was well acquainted with the characters. Yet, the book offered me a new storyline and I am looking forward to a third sequel to the novel.

Epiphany THE SILVERING A return to the Currency of Kindness eBook Sonya Deanna Terry Reviews

The two epiphany books are beautifully written I could not put them down congrats sonya on very professional writing hope to read more of your work kevina Bradley
Those of you having the good fortune to read Sonya's first offering "The Golding" will realise there is no choice but to proceed to the second "The Silvering". Why? Because the former ends in such a cliffhanger, that one is compelled to discover what will happen next in the latter!
Apart from the brilliant narrative, the answer to the dilemma we are facing in the 21st century about the inevitable consequence of continuing & increasing consumption leading to humanities ultimate demise, is being highlighted for serious contemplation. The currency of kindness vs the Gold's Kin mentality of lack/greed is presented for our serious consideration. I hope you find this work as absorbing and thought provoking as I did.
EPIPHANY - The Silvering The story-within-the-story continues by Sonya Deanna Terry is a 483 page fantasy. It includes a character list, nineteen chapters and acknowledgements. I was a fan of book one and this sequel is everything I had hoped it would be and more. It is terrific. I also really love the book covers too.
The reading-group members continue their investigation of the ancient text. Just as the sub-title implies, this is a story-within-a-story. The layered plot is clever, and unfolds nicely as each new revelation comes to light. I am a sucker for legends and prophecies and this story covered it all. Great series. Highly recommended books.
This picked up right where the first book in the series left off, and while I had been waiting to see how that cliffhanger would eventually resolve itself, I had faith that Terry would make it worth my while. I wasn't disappointed, and we see another fascinating tale unravel with Rosetta, Izzie, Glorion, and a cast of other enchanting characters in the midst of two very different worlds. The secrets and slowly revealed plot lines make this a pleasant journey right along with the characters, and while some of the elements are decidedly fantastical in nature, the people themselves are human and relatable. I enjoyed this novel not because the plot was so unique, but because the author didn't compromise her vision for the tone and feel of the novel at any time. There was a definite voice behind these words, and i liked what it had to say. There could have been some light editing done on the novel to work out any kinks and find some of the awkward phrases that caused me to stumble a few times, but generally, the plot and premise are strong enough to carry a reader from start to finish without many delays. A lovely story of timeless love and the power of friendship.
I found the author's writing to be more polished in this second installment than I did in the first, which was a nice surprise, as I wasn't completely satisfied with some of the choices in Book One. However, I feel like her voice is properly honed and her creative thrusters were on full blast. This was a riveting adventure from start to finish, and with such an intricate and overlapping plot, it was impossible to get distracted. You had to fully engage with the story to understand what was going on...in other words, there wasn't much wasted text, which is something I appreciate, particularly in a fantasy, sci-fi, futuristic epic that could easily get tangential and confusing. I feel like Terry chose a perfect blend of flashbacks, time traveling, philosophy, romance, conflict, and sharp witty dialogue to hold my attention from the first page.

However, I wish there had been a bit more editing done in terms of fleshing out some scenes and cutting back others. With so many overlapping plot lines, it is important not to be too over the top with your intricacies, and at times, I felt a bit confused. That being said, it could simply be my fault for not reading at the same level that Sonya is writing. Overall, this was very enjoyable and it felt like a mature conclusion to a well-planned series. Congratulations!
